Check out this video by John Piper, a preacher in the Reformed tradition (I’m not too hip on some points of his theology, but it’s not something to make a huge deal over). This video, however, is dead on. It distinguishes between the prosperity “gospel” (if you believe in Jesus, you’ll gain wealth, health, and material prosperity) and the true gospel of Jesus:
If your theology has no room for Jesus (which the prosperity “gospel” doesn’t), then there’s something wrong with your theology.
Aaron is a follower of Jesus. He's married to his smokin' hot wife Laura and is the father of three adorable girls. He enjoys a robust cigar, a complex root beer, a good movie, writing, football, thought-provoking books, and rousing discussions about subjects you're not supposed to talk about (like theology and politics). Religious people irritate him (because he once was one). He's on a quest to find the perfect dry rub and sauce for ribs.
You are right and spot on! Hey you may find The sparrows guide to prosperity gospel probably very interesting too. http://7drizzles7.wordpress.com/2009/12/11/the-sparrows-guide-to-prosperity-gospel/
