Look Out, G-Vegas

Yesterday, I announced to our church that our family was being called by God to move to Greenville, NC to expand our microchurch network.  It’s a decision we’ve been praying, thinking, discussing, and wrestling with for nearly four months.  It’s one of the hardest decisions I’ve ever made in my life.  I’ve given nearly one third of my life to Discovery.  It’s been a crazy adventure.  And now Discovery gets to write a brand new chapter–by sending us to expand the network to another state… only two years after we transitioned to a microchurch network.

I’m going to spend the coming days answering questions about our move–how it will affect us personally, how it will affect Discovery, what will happen over the next ten months, what we’ll be doing in Greenville, etc.–questions that we’ve been asked, and questions that undoubtedly people have in their heads.

Will there be anxiousness?  Sure.  Will there be questions and doubts? Absolutely.  What I’m sure of is that this isn’t about us leaving… it’s about Discovery sending us.  God is already at work preparing Discovery for our move.  We have ten months to get behind what He’s doing, to pray for it, to pray for our network, to pray for Greenville, to pray for the guys who are stepping up to lead, and to support it however we can.

So, in the coming weeks and months, should you have any questions or concerns, please let me know–don’t keep them to yourself.  Communication is going to be key as we move forward to expand our network into another state–another state!

How cool is that?!?

About Aaron

Aaron is a follower of Jesus. He's married to his smokin' hot wife Laura and is the father of three adorable girls. He enjoys a robust cigar, a complex root beer, a good movie, writing, football, thought-provoking books, and rousing discussions about subjects you're not supposed to talk about (like theology and politics). Religious people irritate him (because he once was one). He's on a quest to find the perfect dry rub and sauce for ribs.
