Monday Mind Dump

Some of the bloggers I read will post a “Monday Mind Dump” every once in awhile.  It’s usually after a hectic week or weekend, and they’ve got a lot of stuff swirling around.  This past weekend was one of those weekends for me, so here we go.  This could get ugly.

  1. Kentucky has WAY too many fences.
  2. West Virginia has WAY too many mountains.
  3. My sis actually did a good job on Thanksgiving dinner.  She didn’t burn the turkey.
  4. Southeast Christian Church is cool (with it’s roughly 20,000 attenders), but I wouldn’t trade the dozen people in my microchurch for the world.
  5. Christians who go to war with other Christians over non-essential things (especially on blogs) stun the crap out of me.
  6. Tudor’s Biscuit World is the greatest place to eat in the world.  Hands down.
  7. The potato melt biscuit (a hashbrown smothered in cheese sauce on a biscuit) is the best thing on Biscuit World’s menu.
  8. Eating a potato melt at Tudor’s Biscuit World in the shadow of a nuclear power plant in the town of Nitro, West Virginia is a life-changing experience.
  9. I’m way too into Tudor’s Biscuit World.
  10. I’m going to The Homestead in Hot Springs, VA today in order to address the Virginia Farm Bureau State Convention tomorrow morning.  They’re in for a treat!
  11. We haven’t started our Christmas shopping yet.  Fortunately, there’s not much to do this year.
  12. The Grizzly is a pizza to die for… or to die trying to eat.
  13. Louisville, KY is a cool town.
  14. Whoever came up with the word “Kentuckiana” needs a beat-down in Jesus’ name.
  15. We’ve done a lot of stuff to the house to get it ready to sell.  We’ve still got a lot more to do.
  16. While we were gone, our student church celebrated their first baptism.  Awesome.
  17. My kids are frickin’ adorable.  Especially when they sing Christmas carols (Madalyn) or quote Christmas Vacation (Annagrace–“Beau-tee-ful, Clark!”).
  18. Vacations aren’t good for my time with God.  Gotta get back on track today.
  19. God is good and he is still here, even when I tend to check out.
  20. You need to go to the next post and check out my ten favorite Christmas songs.

About Aaron

Aaron is a follower of Jesus. He's married to his smokin' hot wife Laura and is the father of three adorable girls. He enjoys a robust cigar, a complex root beer, a good movie, writing, football, thought-provoking books, and rousing discussions about subjects you're not supposed to talk about (like theology and politics). Religious people irritate him (because he once was one). He's on a quest to find the perfect dry rub and sauce for ribs.

  1. Laura says:

I still can’t believe you ate a hashbrown biscuit. The country ham was tasty though. : )
