“Fight Club”: Training Video for Simple Church Planters?

Yes, actually.

I own the DVD, and I watched it last week when my kids were staying at their grandparents and my wife was working the night shift.  It’s one of my favorite films, and I’m always looking for the spiritual undertones in films.  The longer I watched it (which I’ve seen it at least a dozen times), the more I saw the potential for this film to be fodder for simple church planters.

I’ll start telling you why tomorrow.

About Aaron

Aaron is a follower of Jesus. He's married to his smokin' hot wife Laura and is the father of three adorable girls. He enjoys a robust cigar, a complex root beer, a good movie, writing, football, thought-provoking books, and rousing discussions about subjects you're not supposed to talk about (like theology and politics). Religious people irritate him (because he once was one). He's on a quest to find the perfect dry rub and sauce for ribs.

  1. This is an incredible movie, and DOES have some serious implications for believers/Church Planters in America. We actually watched this movie as part of our “church planters” training and studied the different aspects of “community”, virus-like growth that happens throughout the movie, and why it happened. Interesting how much we can learn from a “bad – rated ‘R’ movie”. =) I look forward to tomorrow’s post, and can’t wait to get in on the conversation.
