Walking the Road: 5/3/10 Edition

Every Monday, I’m going to post links to some thought provoking blogs I’ve read in the past week from people who are trying to follow Jesus.  Some posts I agree with; others I don’t.  Either way, they stirred my thinking.  I hope they’ll do the same for you.

Tim Chester, author of Total Church and other books, had some great posts last week:

Understanding Your Neighborhood #1 and #2 from Tim Chester
Some great questions to ask as you get to know your geography.

Loving Your Neighborhood and Missional Through Community from Tim Chester
If you don’t read anything else from this list, read these two posts.  Simple, to the point, and exactly what needs to be said about involving those outside the church in a community of believers.  A lot of these principles I’m trying to be intentional about it our Monday night gatherings.

There were a few other great posts this week as well:

On Passion from Reimagining Church
A great reminder about what–or rather, who–we should be intense about.

AND–What is a Disciple? from Stream of Thought
Some great thoughts from the new book And about what a disciple of Jesus looks like.

Is it Possible to Disciple a Non-Christian? from Leading Smart
Some excellent thoughts from a review of the book Untamed by Alan and Deb Hirsch.

About Aaron

Aaron is a follower of Jesus. He's married to his smokin' hot wife Laura and is the father of three adorable girls. He enjoys a robust cigar, a complex root beer, a good movie, writing, football, thought-provoking books, and rousing discussions about subjects you're not supposed to talk about (like theology and politics). Religious people irritate him (because he once was one). He's on a quest to find the perfect dry rub and sauce for ribs.
