Walking the Road: 6/28/10 Edition

Every Monday, I’m going to post links to some thought-provoking blogs I’ve read in the past week from people who are trying to follow Jesus. Some posts I agree with; others I don’t. Either way, they stirred my thinking. I hope they’ll do the same for you.

I Agree! from Jesus Creed
A post about the execution of a prisoner in Utah by firing squad.  While Scot McKnight may agree with the author of the post, I don’t.  Check it out.

Were It Not for Humans, Church Would Be Great from Jesus Creed
A great post about some of the flawed people God has used over the centuries.

Fool’s Gold from Thirty: The New Twenty
My baby sis tells a story of an encounter she had with someone in Spain.  Excellent writing, sis.

The Sin of Sodom from Desiring God
Thought-provoking post about pride, and how it can lead to us falling for sins we so vocally oppose.

Stay Little Forever from Three Little Birds
My wife recounts the night we saw Toy Story 3, and how it affected our 8-year-old daughter.

.366 from The Life & Times of Trever Bryce Lofton
My buddy Trevor uses a baseball analogy to show how failure is a part of life, and how we shouldn’t beat ourselves up when something we attempt doesn’t succeed.  And dude, if you read this, Babe Ruth was tubby, and he only hit 714 home runs and
won over 100 games as a pitcher.  Of course, his tubbiness was combined with skill.  Not sure you ever had the skill.  Oh well.

About Aaron

Aaron is a follower of Jesus. He's married to his smokin' hot wife Laura and is the father of three adorable girls. He enjoys a robust cigar, a complex root beer, a good movie, writing, football, thought-provoking books, and rousing discussions about subjects you're not supposed to talk about (like theology and politics). Religious people irritate him (because he once was one). He's on a quest to find the perfect dry rub and sauce for ribs.
